Akili — Swahili for intelligence — is the AI layer we are building on top of Shule Fanisi. It is not available to institutions yet, and nothing on this page is something you can switch on today.
Not shipped. Akili is in development. It is not part of any plan on the pricing page, it is not in your trial, and nothing you buy today includes it. We are publishing the direction now so that institutions can tell us whether it is the right one — not to sell it.
The direction
Judgement on top of a system that already knows the facts
Every AI feature worth having needs a boring foundation: one record of what happened, with permissions that already hold. That foundation is what we have spent this product building — Akili is what we intend to put on top of it.
Ask your own data a question
"Which Form 2 students have missed more than a week this term, and do any of them also owe fees?" — a question that today is three screens and a spreadsheet.
The nudge before the problem
A pattern in attendance or marks that a head would have spotted in week nine, surfaced in week three, with the pupils named.
Drafts, not decisions
A first draft of a report-card remark or a letter home, in the teacher's own words, for a human to approve. The teacher still signs it.
Inside the same walls
Whatever Akili can see is exactly what the person asking can already see — the same roles, the same row-level isolation, the same audit trail.
What we will not do
The lines we have already drawn
It will not decide anything about a child.
No automated grading, streaming, discipline or exclusion. A person decides, and the record says which person.
It will not see more than you can.
Akili answers inside the asker's own permissions. A subject teacher cannot get an answer that spans a student's other subjects, because they cannot get that answer today either.
It will not learn from your institution for anyone else.
Your records are yours. They do not become training data for another school's product.
It will not arrive before the deterministic core is right.
A wrong division or a mis-reconciled payment is a real harm to a real family. That has to be correct first, and it is the work we have been doing.
